Opportunity exists for a permanent part time Senior Clinical Dietitian (Level 3) at Ryde Hospital. The position is 16 hours per week with working days to be Monday and Tuesday. Positions within Ryde Dietetics are appointed on the relevant grading, not to a specified clinical area. Ward and outpatient allocation is based upon departmental need.

Ryde Hospital - Nutrition and Dietetics department

Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.

The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.

Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.

What you'll be doing The position is part of the Dietetics team at Ryde Hospital and provides nutrition care for acute inpatients as well as outpatients as per priority. The position also assists with nutrition care within sub-acute (rehabilitation) as requested. In addition, the position is required to participate in the provision of the face-to-face weekend/public holiday Dietetic service on the Ryde Hospital campus (acute care and sub-acute care) for long weekends as rostered.

Dietitian is active in maintaining standards of quality nutritional care, education and consultancy for patients, staff and the wider community.

Dietitian is involved in planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting on services.

Dietitian will identify opportunities for improvement in clinical practice,



as well as develop and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.

Dietitian provides clinical supervision to level 1 /2 dietitians , Dietitian AHA and may also act as Team Leader when the Ryde HOD Nutrition and Dietetics is on leave

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

1. Bachelor or post graduate degree in nutrition and dietetics that provides eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia. Evidence of extensive clinical experience with a minimum as a Level 2 Dietitian.
2. Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement activities or service evaluation process. Experience in clinical teaching and supervision of students, level 1/2 Allied Health Professionals and/or Allied Health Assistants.
3. Demonstrated proficiency in ability to work autonomously with limited supervision. Have the ability to prioritise work, manage a demanding workload, apply high level reasoning skills and have independent professional judgement.
