About the Role

Based in our Sydney office, you’ll join a team-oriented pre-contracts team supporting opportunities across New South Wales.

Depending on your level of experience, you’ll either support or lead tenders from initial review through to submission and project handover.

You’ll develop first-principles estimates, engage with subcontractors and suppliers, review tender documentation, identify commercial and delivery risks and work closely with our operational teams to develop practical and competitive solutions.

The diversity of our work means you could be pricing a civil or bulk earthworks package on one tender and supporting a complex demolition, hazardous materials or remediation opportunity on the next.

What You’ll Do

- Prepare and manage tenders across civil, demolition, hazardous materials removal and remediation projects.
- Develop detailed first-principles estimates and competitive pricing.
- Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Complete quantity take-offs and develop scopes of work.
- Identify commercial, technical and delivery risks and opportunities.
- Engage subcontractors and suppliers through RFQ and pricing processes.
- Review subcontractor and supplier submissions and ensure appropriate scope coverage.
- Work with operational teams to develop methodologies and practical delivery solutions.
- Contribute to tender strategy, value engineering and cost optimisation.
- Support tender reviews,



governance and approvals.
- Build strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, clients and internal stakeholders.
- Support the handover of successful tenders to project delivery teams.
- For Senior Estimators, lead complex tenders and provide guidance and mentoring to other members of the estimating team.

What You’ll Bring

- Estimating experience within civil construction, demolition, remediation, hazardous materials or a related construction environment.
- Experience preparing estimates, take-offs and tender submissions.
- An understanding of first-principles estimating and construction methodologies.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to identify key risks, opportunities and cost drivers.
- Experience engaging with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across estimating, operational and commercial teams.
- A motivated, positive and solutions-focused approach.
- Strong organisation and ability to manage competing tender deadlines.

You don’t need experience across all of our service areas. We’re interested in people who bring strong estimating fundamentals and are keen to broaden their experience across our diverse project portfolio.

What Will Set You Apart

- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Experience across bulk earthworks, roadworks, drainage or civil infrastructure.
- Demolition estimating experience.
- Experience with asbestos or other hazardous materials removal.
- Exposure to contaminated land and remediation projects.




- A combination of project delivery and estimating experience.
- Familiarity with Expert Estimation or similar estimating software.
- For Senior Estimator applicants, experience leading tenders and mentoring others.
