/n /n /n Senior Java Software Engineer - NMS /n As a Senior Java Software Engineer – NMS reporting to Director – Software Engineering, NMS, you'll play a critical role in designing and delivering Nasdaq's leading Market Surveillance platform — technology that helps keep global markets fair, transparent, and efficient. /n /n You'll thrive in this position if you're a hands-on engineer who takes ownership, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and wants to make a real impact in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. /n /n Key Responsibilities /n /n

- /n Design, develop, troubleshooting and implement solutions to Nasdaq Market Surveillance /n
- /n Reviews system requirements and business processes. /n
- /n Participate in technical design, functional specification reviews, develop project estimates, schedules, test plans, and code reviews. /n
- /n Proactively identify and resolve potential problems/issues including authoring of technical specifications. /n
- /n Determines systems software design requirements. /n
- /n Provides application software development services or technical support typically for more challenging assignments. /n
- /n Mentor others in the team on implementing system improvements, challenging the team to increase efficiency wherever possible and to utilize current industry trends. /n
- /n Participates in IT systems strategy, development and /or integrations services to clients. /n /n /n Required Qualifications /n /n
- /n Have Degree qualified in Computer Science, Business/Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience /n
- /n At least 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering using Java. /n




- /n Experience working in financial institutions is highly preferred but not required /n
- /n Special Qualifications: Maintains skilled association memberships. Specialized development in business acumen, financial, and critical thinking. /n /n /n Preferred Qualifications /n /n
- /n Experience working in financial institutions, fintech, or capital markets. /n
- /n Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB. /n /n /n This position will be located in Sydney, Australia and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 2 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates. /n /n This is a permanent, full-time role so candidates should have full working rights in Australia.
