Our Consumer Energy team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Policy Officer on a short-term basis. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Policy Officer to come onboard to provide strategic policy analysis and advice to support the consideration and delivery of consumer energy priorities within the Consumer Policy Branch. These priorities include leading regulatory reforms and development of NSW Government policy with respect to energy prices and consumer protections. This role involves undertaking research, gathering evidence and data, analysing complex policy issues and developing consumer-focused energy strategies and reforms.
About The Role
This role is responsible for developing policy to address issues within the energy consumer protections framework, particularly with regard to energy pricing and consumer vulnerability. This role supports the Minister for Energy with responsibilities in relation to matters of national and NSW energy consumer reform.
The focus of this role will be supporting the delivery of reforms considered within the NSW Consumer Energy Strategy, including with respect to embedded networks, retail tariff reform and hardship customer protections, to drive improved consumer outcomes within the energy system.
Key responsibilities include
- dealing with complex policy issues that have significant energy consumer impact
- developing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- designing creative solutions to achieve effective policy outcomes within complexities of interagency and intergovernmental processes for policy development.
Key functions include policy analysis,
stakeholder engagement, and preparing briefs and submissions on complex energy issues.
