Key knowledge and experience

- Demonstrated experience designing, developing and supporting enterprise applications, Web APIs, background processing services and system integrations.

- Strong understanding of software design and architecture principles, including dependency injection, asynchronous programming, separation of concerns and clean code practices.

- Strong experience with relational database design and development, including data modelling,normalisation, query optimisation and database objects.

- Experience developing modern web applications and user-facing functionality.

- Experience developing, deploying and supporting applications and services in cloud environments.

- Knowledge of secure development, authentication, authorisation, logging, monitoring, exception handling and production support practices.

- Demonstrated ability to contribute to technical design, translate approved specifications into working solutions, and resolve complex technical issues within multidisciplinary delivery teams.

Essential requirements

- Demonstrated expertise in C#, .NET and ASP.NET Core development, including building and supporting secure, reliable and well-tested Web APIs and background processing services.

- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server or a comparable relational database platform, including database design, data modelling, normalisation, efficient SQL queries, views, stored procedures and functions where appropriate.

- Strong experience using Entity Framework Core to develop and maintain efficient data access layers.

- Experience developing modern web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React or a similar front-end framework.





- Strong understanding of integration architecture, API design, data transformation and system interoperability principles.

- Experience developing and supporting services and applications on a major cloud platform.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication and collaboration skills.

- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent qualified experience.

- Willingness to use approved AI-assisted development tools where appropriate while applying sound judgement and reviewing the resulting work.

Desirable Requirements

- Experience working with Microsoft Azure services and platform capabilities.

- Experience working with Squiz DXP or a similar Digital Experience Platform, including public-facing and content-driven web solutions.

- Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging technologies such as Azure Service Bus, Azure Queue Storage or equivalent services.

- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment processes, infrastructure automation and containerisation technologies.

- Knowledge of API management platforms, integration of middleware and enterprise integration patterns.

- Experience integrating with enterprise CRM, workflow and service management platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Salesforce or ServiceNow.

- Experience developing and supporting solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Automate.

- Experience contributing to legacy system modernisation or digital transformation initiatives in a public sector, regulated or high-availability environment.

Pay: $108,676.53 – $146,945.00 per year
