Senior Software Tester - VIC or ACT | On-site

Job: Senior Software Tester A global, mission-led technology organisation supporting Defence, Intelligence and Federal Government customers is growing its Mission Software capability in Australia. You'll join teams building and supporting trusted, mission-critical software where quality, reliability and outcomes genuinely matter.

The Role

We're seeking an experienced Senior Software Tester to join a multidisciplinary delivery team, working full-time on-site in Scoresby (VIC) or Canberra (ACT).

You'll partner closely with engineers, architects, business analysts and customer stakeholders, owning end-to-end testing activities across the SDLC-from early requirements review and test planning through execution, defect management, validation and reporting.

Package: up to $180,000 package (dependent on experience)

Work type: Permanent, full-time on-site

Locations: Scoresby (VIC) or Canberra (ACT)

- Australian Citizen
- Hold an active NV-2 or TSPV clearance

Applicants may also need to meet ITAR requirements, which can impact eligibility in certain dual nationality / residency scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

- Review requirements for testability and quality outcomes
- Develop and maintain test strategies, plans, cases and procedures
- Deliver functional, integration, system, regression and UAT testing
- Execute manual and automated tests and accurately capture results
- Identify, track and manage defects,



risks and improvement opportunities
- Work with delivery teams to prioritise and verify defect fixes
- Maintain traceability across requirements, tests, defects and results
- Run/participate in test readiness and QA reviews
- Produce high-quality test reporting, metrics and stakeholder updates
- Support broader verification and validation activities

What You'll Bring
- Robust hands-on experience testing across one or more phases of the SDLC
- Proven ability to create and execute test plans / test cases / test procedures
- Solid capability with defect identification, triage and verification
- Strong understanding of testing methods, processes and best practice
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools
- Excellent communication skills-comfortable with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical/problem-solving approach in fast-paced delivery settings

Nice to Have (Not Essential)
- Experience in Agile delivery environments
- Test automation tools/frameworks exposure
- CI/CD and automated QA practices
- Performance/load/resilience testing experience
- Defence/Government or regulated environment experience
- ISTQB or other relevant testing certifications
