The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Warehouse Officer to join the team and take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the warehouse and dispatch operations.
This is a hands-on senior position, with one other team member will report directly into you. You will play an significant role in coordinating incoming and outgoing stock, ensuring orders are dispatched accurately and on time, maintaining inventory levels and keeping the warehouse operating efficiently.
This role has become available as the current person is retiring at the end of the year, My client would like to start this new person within the next few weeks to ensure there is adequate training and handover. This role would suit someone who enjoys being hands-on but is ready to take the next step into a senior warehouse position with additional responsibility.
Key Duties
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse and dispatch area
- Supervise and support one warehouse team member
- Operate a Toyota 3T counterbalance forklift for loading, unloading and stock movements
- Coordinate incoming deliveries and outgoing dispatches
- Receive, label, wrap and scan pallets into the inventory system
- Pick, pack and prepare customer orders for dispatch
- Liaise with internal teams and external 3PL warehouses to coordinate stock movements
- Conduct regular stocktakes and maintain accurate inventory records
- Ensure warehouse stock is stored safely and efficiently
- Prepare and check paperwork including pick lists, load sheets and driver dockets
- Assist with maintaining a clean, safe and organised warehouse
- Identify and resolve day-to-day warehouse and dispatch issues
- Lead by example and ensure a high standard of accuracy, safety and productivity is maintained
What You'll Need
- Previous experience in a senior warehouse, warehouse supervisor or leading hand role
- Current forklift licence and a competent operator
- Strong understanding of warehouse and dispatch operations
- Previous experience supervising or mentoring staff
- Good computer and inventory system skills
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the warehouse operation
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver's licence
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening
- Have full Australian working rights (sorry, no visa's)
Hours & Pay
- Monday to Friday; 6:00am - 2:06pm
- $45.00 per hour + super
- Overtime available as required, with applicable penalty rates
- Temporary with the view for permanency (long-term role)
