Aussie Marine has a great opportunity for a motivated Service / Parts Interpreter to join our experienced and friendly team in Cairns.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, working with customers and technicians, and keeping a busy marine workshop and parts operation moving.

You’ll work with our established customer base and alongside a knowledgeable team with genuine experience in the marine industry. Previous parts, service or marine experience will be highly regarded, but we’re also interested in people with strong mechanical aptitude, excellent customer service skills and a genuine willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify, source, quote and sell parts for customers and internal workshop technicians
- Interpret parts requirements from customer descriptions, engine information and technical documentation
- Coordinate parts procurement, ordering, receival, storage and dispatch
- Support the service department with parts identification and availability
- Prepare quotations, sales orders and invoices
- Maintain accurate stock and customer records
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers regarding availability, pricing and technical information
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and the workshop team
- Identify opportunities to improve stock management, workflow and customer service
- Work toward agreed sales and service targets while maintaining a high standard of customer care

- Confident dealing directly with customers
- Organised and able to manage competing priorities
- Mechanically minded and comfortable working with technical information
- Able to turn a customer’s description of a problem into a practical parts or service solution
- Confident negotiating, recommending products and closing sales
- Well presented, reliable and accountable
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced dealership and workshop environment
- Genuinely interested in boats, outboards and the marine industry
