Role Description -

The Service Engineer role is a permanent full time, on-site position working with the Service Manager and the wider Service Team to provide Scitek's customers, and the Scitek Sales Team, with safe, timely and technically sound solutions to equipment and technical service needs.

Based in Melbourne, the role supports the Victorian customer base while contributing to Scitek's national service capability.

This role requires regular travel across Victoria, with interstate and occasional overseas travel as required.

Key Selection Criteria -

Qualifications & Licensing

- Engineering degree/diploma or equivalent technical trade background
- Valid Victorian (or equivalent) Class C driver's licence
- Licensed Electrician registration in Victoria, or a current Refrigeration and Air Conditioning licence (e.g.

ARCtick), highly regarded but not essential

Technical Skills

- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical faults across electrical and mechanical systems
- Proficient in the use of tools and diagnostic equipment (Multimeter, vacuum gauges etc.)




- Experience both in the use and repair of scientific vacuum and process chemistry equipment highly regarded

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong, creative problem-solving skills applied to technical challenges
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Well organised, with sound time-management and prioritisation skills

Key Responsibility Areas -

Service Delivery

- Perform equipment repairs on Scitek products and non-Scitek brands
- Perform assessments and quotations on service jobs
- Perform onsite installations and provide user training
- Perform repairs within agreed timeframes, subject to parts availability

Electrical & Refrigeration Compliance (Where Applicable)

- Where licensed as an Electrician or refrigeration/AC technician, provide feedback and recommendations on matters of electrical or refrigeration compliance within your licensed scope
- Perform in-house electrical works on Scitek sites
- Perform external electrical works related to customer installations or projects

Documentation & Systems

- Maintain precise and timely documentation of all work performed in NetSuite, including service reports and expenses

Customer & Sales Support

- Work with the Sales Team to promote Scitek products and provide technical support
- Communicate with Scitek suppliers in a professional manner to progress service tasks
- Communicate with customers in a friendly and professional, providing training,



support and recommendations

Workplace Standards & Safety

- Maintain a clean and professional workshop
- Comply with all OH&S; requirements onsite and offsite, and promptly report issues to the Service Manager
- Comply with all relevant road and safety regulations while travelling to and from customer sites

Professional Development

- Work closely with the Senior Service Engineer and Service Manager to develop knowledge and technical skills

Skill Development -

- Ongoing training provided by the Service Manager and Senior Service Engineer
- Overseas training delivered by Scitek's suppliers
- Internal and external sales and customer service training
- External trade/tertiary technical courses relevant to the position

Key Performance Indicators -

Responsiveness

- Respond to all customer inquiries and equipment deliveries within 24 hours
- Provide repair cost estimations within 3 working days of equipment receipt
- Complete repairs within 5 working days of customer approval, subject to parts availability

Productivity & Quality

- Complete all assigned service jobs within the allocated timeframe
- Show initiative in resolving technical challenges and identifying sales opportunities
- Maintain workshop facilities in a clean and presentable state at all times

Professionalism

- Responsible and professional use of Scitek resources
- Represent yourself and Scitek professionally at all times
