Achieve Something Great Join a highly specialised and collaborative team delivering comprehensive sleep diagnostic and treatment services to the South Western Sydney community. Based at Liverpool Hospital, this role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of sleep medicine services while contributing to high-quality patient care within a NATA/ASA accredited sleep unit.

What does this role entail?
- Liverpool Hospital Sleep Service encompasses an outpatient sleep clinic, NATA/ASA accredited five bed sleep unit, Home Ambulatory Sleep Testing Service, Respiratory Failure Service and CPAP Therapy Service. It is currently the only public hospital within South Western Sydney Local Health District to provide a comprehensive diagnostic and treatment sleep service.
- A Sleep Scientist is responsible for the provision of high-quality patient care. They are expected to possess knowledge in the procedures, methodology and theory pertaining to sleep study testing and take responsibility.

Are You the Right Fit? You are an experienced Sleep Scientist with a passion for delivering high-quality patient care and a strong understanding of contemporary sleep medicine practices. You thrive in a specialised environment where technical expertise, teamwork and continuous improvement are highly valued.

- Extensive experience as a Sleep Scientist within public and/or private healthcare settings
- Demonstrated expertise in sleep study scoring,



analysis and specialised daytime testing including MSLT and MWT
- Experience supporting patients with CPAP and non-invasive ventilation (NIV) therapies across diagnostic and treatment pathways
- Knowledge of quality improvement activities and accreditation requirements relevant to sleep disorder services
- RPSGT or ANZSSA Certification, or eligibility to sit the examination

Selection Criteria To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

- Degree in a Science related discipline or such qualifications as the employer deems equivalent (e.g. Engineering, Nursing etc.)
- Clear understanding of AASM scoring guidelines with extensive experience in scoring/analysis of sleep studies
- Previous or current hospital experience working within the field of Sleep Medicine with technical skills including troubleshooting of equipment, configuration of sleep study and PAP titration systems
- Experience working as a Sleep Technician performing sleep study setup, sleep monitoring, and PAP titration of patients overnight
- Experience with initiation and management of patients on CPAP and non-invasive ventilation therapy within the home setting
