As our business continues to grow and our operations become increasingly technology-driven, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our team in Pooraka, South Australia, on a full-time permanent basis.

About the Role The Software Engineer will be responsible for analysing requirements and designing, developing, modifying, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting software applications and systems.

The successful applicant will work closely with management, operational staff, system users and other technical personnel to understand business requirements, identify limitations and opportunities within existing systems, and develop reliable, secure and efficient software solutions.

The role involves web and mobile application development, backend systems, databases, APIs, system integrations, testing, troubleshooting, technical documentation, deployment and ongoing system improvement.

The position will also contribute to future data analysis, automation and business intelligence initiatives as the company's technology capability continues to expand.

Key Responsibilities

- Research, consult, analyse and evaluate software, application and system requirements.
- Consult with management, operational staff and system users to understand business requirements and translate them into functional and technical software specifications.
- Analyse existing systems, business processes, procedures and workflows to identify technology limitations, deficiencies, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement or automation.
- Design, develop, modify, implement and maintain software applications and systems in accordance with user requirements, system designs and technical specifications.
- Write, review and maintain program code using appropriate software engineering practices and quality standards.
- Develop and maintain web applications, mobile applications, backend services, databases and software integrations.
- Test, debug, diagnose and correct software errors, defects and system faults to ensure applications perform according to requirements and specifications.
- Develop and perform software testing procedures to verify functionality, performance, reliability, security and data integrity before deployment.
- Prepare functional and technical specifications to support software development,



modification and system integration activities.
- Design and maintain database structures and contribute to data modelling and application data requirements.
- Develop, maintain and integrate REST APIs and other interfaces between internal applications and third-party platforms.
- Investigate software faults, application performance issues and system problems and implement appropriate corrections, modifications and upgrades.
- Review existing software functionality and recommend enhancements, upgrades and technical improvements.
- Assist with software architecture, system design and technical decision-making for new and existing applications.
- Coordinate software releases, deployments, upgrades and implementation activities.
- Maintain source code and application versions using appropriate version-control and software-development workflows.
- Prepare, update and maintain technical documentation, system instructions, operational procedures and end-user documentation.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to management and staff regarding software functionality, system improvements and technology-related decisions.
- Evaluate software technologies, development tools, upgrades and proposed technical solutions, including technical suitability and relevant cost considerations.
- Collaborate with developers, testers and other technical personnel throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Contribute to software project planning, including technical requirements, development priorities, implementation stages, resources and project timelines.
- Develop scripts, data-processing solutions and automation tools to support reporting, operational analysis and future business intelligence initiatives where required.
- Research emerging technologies, software-development approaches and industry practices and recommend appropriate improvements to existing systems and applications.

Exposure to Java or Java-based application development and integrations will also be advantageous.



Qualifications and Experience To be considered for this position, applicants should have:

- A Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related discipline.
- A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in software engineering, software development, application development, systems development or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining software applications and systems.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, programming concepts, databases, APIs and system integration.
- Experience analysing business and user requirements and translating them into effective technical and software solutions.
- Experience with software testing, debugging, fault diagnosis and application troubleshooting.
- Experience working with relational databases and data-driven applications.
- Ability to prepare functional and technical specifications, system documentation and software testing procedures.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with management, system users and both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team-oriented development environment.
