Position: Finance Manager

Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: $78,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation per annum

Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to their team in Birtinya, Queensland.

The Finance Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting of an assigned portfolio of clients. The role provides timely financial analysis and advice to the Director and other managers, supports sound commercial decision-making, and ensures financial practices comply with applicable legislation, accounting standards and internal policies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy & Planning.

- Determine, implement, monitor, review and evaluate budgetary and accounting strategies, policies and plans in consultation with the Director and other managers.
- Develop long-range profit forecasts, annual budgets, cash-flow forecasts and financial plans aligned with organisational priorities.
- Provide financial information and interpret its implications for business performance, cash flow and funding requirements.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

- Manage and coordinate the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash-flow reports, management reports and forecasts of future earnings and revenue.
- Analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identify material variances and trends, and provide recommendations to management.
- Present financial insights to the Director and other managers in a clear form that supports operational and strategic decision-making.

Accounting Systems & Financial Controls

- Coordinate the development, implementation and ongoing monitoring of accounting systems, procedures and internal financial controls.
- Oversee month-end and year-end financial reporting processes and review the integrity and completeness of financial data.




- Identify and implement opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy and reliability of financial processes and reporting.

Capital, Funding & Commercial Evaluation

- Prepare and review financial models, business cases and scenario analyses to assess proposed capital expenditure, operational projects and significant client business initiatives.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to clients regarding funding requirements, financing alternatives and allocation of financial resources.
- Prepare financial modelling and scenario analysis to support significant business decisions.

Compliance & Qualified Standards

- Ensure financial activities, records and reporting practices comply with applicable financial legislation, accounting standards and organisational policies.
- Monitor relevant changes in financial reporting and regulatory requirements and coordinate necessary updates to systems, procedures and controls.
- Support internal and external reviews by providing accurate records, reports and explanations when required.

Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration

- Work collaboratively with the Director and other managers to translate business plans into measurable financial objectives.
- Provide guidance to team members on financial processes, reporting obligations and budget accountability.
- Promote accurate record-keeping, responsible financial management and continuous improvement across the organisation.

Requirements:

- A relevant Bachelor’s degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a closely related discipline.
- At least 12 months of previous experience as a Finance Manager
- Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial analysis.
- Experience developing or improving accounting systems, financial procedures and internal controls.
- Sound knowledge of applicable accounting standards and financial compliance obligations.
- Experience using contemporary accounting and reporting software.
