The Role

The People Partner is a trusted advisor to leaders, partnering with the business to deliver people strategies that support TasWater’s operational and strategic objectives. The role provides expert guidance across workforce planning, employee relations, organisational change, leadership development, performance management and employee wellbeing, helping leaders build capable, engaged and high-performing teams.

- Build trusted and effective relationships with leaders and stakeholders across multiple portfolio groups, developing a deep understanding of business priorities, workforce risks and operational context.
- Support workforce planning, talent development and organisational change
- Use people insights and data to improve workforce outcomes and employee experience.
- Provide practical, procedurally fair, values-aligned and risk informed advice on complex people matters, balancing employee experience, legislative and policy obligations, industrial risk and business outcomes.
- Support leaders to identify and respond to psychosocial risks,



wellbeing concerns and respectful workplace issues in partnership with Health, Safety and Wellbeing, Workplace Relations and Culture and Capability.

What we're looking for

We are looking for an experienced HR professional who can build trusted relationships, partner effectively with leaders and provide practical people solutions that support business performance. The successful candidate will bring strong coaching and influencing skills, sound employee relations experience and the ability to translate business priorities into people-focused outcomes. They will be comfortable working in a complex workplace, using workforce insights and data to identify risks, build capability and drive positive employee experiences.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in human resources, employee relations, organisational psychology, business or a related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent competency.
- Significant business partnering experience in a medium to large, complex or operationally diverse organisation.
- Ability to use people data, workforce metrics and portfolio insights to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, defensible written advice and documentation.

The Details

This role can be based in either our Hobart or Launceston office and is fixed term until March 2027.
