Assistant Branch Manager | Electrical Wholesale

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a hands-on leadership position where you’ll work closely with the Branch Manager to keep the branch performing commercially and operationally.

You’ll be involved across customer relationships, sales growth, margin management, inventory, suppliers and team performance. When the Branch Manager is away, you’ll step up to supervise the team and take responsibility for maintaining smooth branch operations.

It’s an ideal opportunity for someone who already understands the trade environment but wants broader responsibility and the chance to develop into a future Branch Manager.

You’ll take ownership across a broad range of commercial and operational responsibilities, including:

- Supporting the branch in achieving sales, margin and profit targets
- Identifying new customers and developing additional sales opportunities
- Growing existing accounts and increasing customer share of wallet
- Re-engaging lost or at-risk customers where there is a commercial opportunity
- Building strong relationships with key customers and suppliers
- Following up quotations, enquiries,



backorders and customer issues
- Supporting forecasting and broader branch planning
- Supervising and motivating employees in the Branch Manager’s absence
- Supporting stocktakes, inventory control and shrinkage management

ABOUT YOU

You’ll be commercially minded, customer focused and ready to take on greater leadership responsibility.

This role is designed to suit someone who has developed strong industry experience and now wants the opportunity to step up.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

- Experience within electrical wholesale, trade sales, branch operations, warehousing or a similar trade-focused environment
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills
- A sales mindset with the ability to recognise and convert opportunities
- An understanding of the commercial drivers behind branch performance
- Previous experience supervising, mentoring or supporting other team members would be advantageous
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- The confidence to lead a branch team when required
- Good attention to detail across stock, pricing and administration

Most importantly, you’ll have the ambition to develop.
