We are seeking an experienced Boilermaker / Welder to join a manufacturing team in Bathurst on a full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson with strong welding and fabrication experience to contribute to the production of quality metal components, structures and assemblies within a safety-focused manufacturing setting.

You will be responsible for welding, fabrication, assembly, repairs and general production work while working from technical drawings and engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

As a Boilermaker / Welder , your key responsibilities will include:

- Performing welding and fabrication of metal components, structures and assemblies.
- Undertaking general fabrication and production work.
- Performing MIG, TIG and Stick/MMAW welding across a range of materials.
- Fabricating and assembling structures, frames, plate assemblies, pipework and vessels.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and engineering specifications.
- Completing marking, measuring and geometric development of fabrications and shapes.
- Performing mechanical cutting, manual heating and thermal cutting.
- Safely operating hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery.




- Completing repairs, modifications and replacement of fabricated components.
- Performing engineering measurements and basic computations.
- Applying appropriate fabrication, forming and shaping techniques.
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality.
- Following welding, production and quality procedures.
- Identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality and productivity.
- Assisting with on-the-job training where required.
- Working collaboratively with Production and other departments.
- Completing manual handling tasks in accordance with secure work practices.
- Maintaining environmentally sustainable work practices.
- Undertaking other reasonable duties as directed by the Production Manager.

Your Profile

Essential





- Trade qualification as a Boilermaker, Welder or Fitter, such as Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar welding/fabrication role.
- Strong experience with MIG, TIG and Stick/MMAW welding.
- Experience working with a variety of materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Proven welding and fabrication capabilities.
- Strong commitment to WHS, quality and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Desirable

- Experience within heavy engineering or manufacturing.
- Advanced welding and fabrication skills.
- Experience with structural fabrication and repairs.
- Ability to identify opportunities to improve safety, quality and productivity.
- Experience working to documented welding procedures and quality standards.
