This is an excellent opportunity for a FANZCA Anaesthetist, ANZCA-assessed Specialist International Medical Graduate (SIMG), or Anaesthetist eligible for Australia's Expedited Specialist Pathway seeking a permanent Consultant position in one of Queensland's most attractive coastal regions.

The Position:

This is an excellent opportunity to work as a full-time, permanent Staff Specialist / Consultant Anaesthetist within a busy regional health service.

As a senior member of the Anaesthetics team, you will provide high-quality specialist anaesthetic services across a broad range of surgical and procedural specialties.

You will work as part of an experienced multidisciplinary team and contribute to the supervision, education and training of junior medical staff, registrars and other clinicians.

You will be joining a major regional hospital providing a broad range of acute, surgical and specialist services to a large and rapidly growing coastal population.

The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services, intensive care, surgery, obstetrics, paediatrics, general medicine, orthopaedics, oncology, renal medicine and other specialist services.

The facility is currently benefiting from significant investment and expansion, increasing inpatient capacity and further developing critical care and other hospital services.

The Anaesthetics department works closely with surgical, critical care and other clinical teams and provides the prospect to work across a broad and interesting range of cases within a supportive regional health service.

Requirements:

Applicants should meet one of the following criteria:

- Hold FANZCA and be eligible for Specialist Registration with AHPRA; or




- Hold New Zealand FANZCA or equivalent qualifications eligible for specialist registration in Australia; or
- Be an International Medical Graduate who has completed an ANZCA Specialist Assessment and received a Substantially Comparable outcome; or
- Be eligible for the Expedited Specialist Pathway in Anaesthesia.

Expedited Specialist Pathway:

Australia's Expedited Specialist Pathway provides a streamlined pathway to specialist registration for eligible overseas-trained specialists who hold an accepted specialist qualification.

Anaesthesia is one of the specialties currently included in the pathway, and doctors holding certain recognised specialist qualifications may be eligible to apply without completing the traditional specialist college assessment pathway.

This may include eligible Anaesthetists who obtained their specialist qualifications in countries such as the United Kingdom or Ireland, subject to their specific qualification meeting the Medical Board of Australia's requirements.
