About Our Client:

Our client is a leading WA civil-construction contractor delivering earthworks, road formation, heavy-machine installations and facility maintenance across mining, infrastructure and industrial projects. They prioritise zero-harm safety outcomes, quality workmanship and regulatory compliance on every site.

Role Overview:

We’re seeking a permanent Heavy Duty Mechanic based in Albany, WA, to maintain, service and repair heavy-plant equipment that keeps earthworks and road-building projects moving.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform routine servicing, preventative maintenance and fault diagnosis on graders, excavators, dozers, loaders and articulated trucks.
- Undertake on-site breakdown repairs, including hydraulic, transmission and engine diagnostics.
- Overhaul major components (gearboxes, differentials, final drives) in workshop and field environments.
- Maintain accurate service logs, parts requisitions and compliance records.
- Coordinate with site supervisors and external workshops to schedule maintenance windows and minimize downtime.
- Ensure all work meets OEM specifications, site safety procedures and environmental guidelines.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

- Trade certificate as a Heavy Diesel/Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (Certificate III or equivalent).




- Minimum 3 years’ experience maintaining heavy-plant machinery on civil or mining sites.
- Robust diagnostic skills with electronic engine management, CAN-bus systems and hydraulics.
- Relevant licenses/tickets: HR or HC license, Forklift, Confined Space and Working at Heights.
- Excellent communicator with a proactive safety-first mindset.
