Our client is a leading manufacturing and steel fabrication business delivering projects across commercial and industrial sectors.
They specialize in delivering high-quality fabrication, assembly and manufacture for structural, mechanical and industrial applications while maintaining strict QA and compliance standards.
The Role:
You will support the Project Management team to deliver steel fabrication and manufacturing projects from commencement to completion. Key duties include:
- Assist Project Managers with planning, tracking and reporting project milestones and deliverables.
- Monitor and update project schedules and progress against timelines.
- Liaise with estimating, workshop and logistics teams to ensure smooth information flow.
- Request, receive and compare supplier/subcontractor quotes; prepare and maintain purchase orders in line with budgets and approvals.
- Conduct material & component take-offs from approved drawings and specifications; prepare detailed packing lists for incoming/outgoing goods.
- Maintain drawing registers, revision control and up-to-date project files.
- Compile QA documentation (material certificates, welding records, inspection reports) and assist with MDRs and ITPs to meet client/regulatory requirements.
- Assist in preparing client progress reports, meeting minutes and tracking project costs/expenditure logs.
Requirements:
- Demonstrable background supporting manufacturing, steel fabrication or construction projects.
- Familiarity with procurement processes, supplier liaison and basic cost control principles.
- Proven experience preparing take-offs, packing lists and managing document registers.
- Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with project management software.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience with QA documentation in a fabrication or construction environment.
- Knowledge of WHS and industry compliance requirements (advantageous).
- Strong data entry skills and disciplined document control practices.
- A proactive, team-focused approach and the ability to manage competing priorities.
