About the role

LumaWell Care Group is an emerging NDIS Registered Provider, now in our third year of operation, delivering high-quality, person-centred support to people living with disability and mental health challenges. We are seeking passionate, committed Support Workers and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to join our team across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Cessnock, Singleton, Raymond Terrace, Port Stephens and the broader Hunter Region.

Key responsibilities

Support Workers – depending on the participant and their individual support needs, you may:

- Provide in-home and community-based support

- Support participants with ASD Levels 1–3 and varying support needs

- Assist with capacity building and support participants to work towards their NDIS goals

- Support community access, appointments and social participation

- Assist with personal care, mobility, meal preparation and daily living routines

- Support participants with communication, routines and skill development

- Provide professional support to participants with complex needs and behaviours of concern

- Complete accurate progress notes and participant documentation

- Promote choice, dignity, safety, independence and wellbeing

AINs may support people with higher care needs, including:

- Personal care and activities of daily living

- Mobility and higher-care support

- Safe medication assistance within competency and role requirements

- Health and wellbeing support

- Accurate documentation and reporting

- Overnight and sleepover supports where required

- Collaboration with nursing and care teams to deliver high-quality, person-centred support

About you

- A genuine passion for working within the Disability, Health and/or Mental Health sector

- Previous experience as an NDIS/Disability Support Worker or AIN

- Experience supporting autistic participants, including people with ASD Level 1, 2 and/or 3 support needs

- Confidence supporting participants with different communication and support needs





- Experience supporting participants with complex needs and behaviours of concern is highly regarded

- A robust understanding of rights-based, person-centred support practices

- The ability to respond confidently and professionally to complex situations, exercising sound judgement and initiative

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

- Reliability, empathy and a genuine commitment to participant choice, dignity and independence

- Current NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC), or willingness to obtain

- NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC), or willingness to obtain

- Current First Aid Certificate

- NDIS Worker Orientation Module – Certificate of Completion

- Valid NSW Driver's Licence

- Access to a registered and comprehensively insured vehicle

- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or equivalent is highly regarded

- For AINs: Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Aged Care/Disability/Community Services) or equivalent

- For AINs: Medication competency

- For AINs: Experience supporting people with higher care needs
