About the role

Elysian Salon Spa is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Hairdresser - Brand New or 1st Year Apprentice to join our dynamic team in Adelaide. This is a full-time apprenticeship position perfect for individuals who are just beginning their journey in the hair and beauty industry or are in their first year of formal training. You will work alongside experienced stylists and mentors who will guide you through hands-on learning, helping you develop the technical skills, creativity and customer service excellence that defines our salon. This role is based at our Adelaide CBD location and offers an exciting opportunity to launch a rewarding career in a thriving, skilled salon environment.

Key responsibilities

- Assist experienced hairdressers with client services, including shampooing, conditioning and basic hair treatments under supervision

- Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic work station and salon setting in accordance with health and safety standards

- Learn and practise fundamental hairstyling techniques including cutting, colouring, styling and finishing under the guidance of qualified mentors

- Support clients with a warm, welcoming attitude and provide excellent customer service throughout their salon experience

- Develop product knowledge and learn to recommend appropriate hair care products and treatments to clients

- Contribute to the overall professionalism and appearance of the salon

- Undertake formal apprenticeship training and complete required coursework and assessments

- Seek feedback from senior stylists and continuously improve technical skills and salon practices

What we're looking for

- Currently enrolled in or wanting to commence a recognised hairdressing apprenticeship

- A genuine passion for hair, beauty and working with people

- Willingness to learn with a positive, open and adaptable attitude

- Robust communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members and clients

- Reliability, punctuality and commitment to completing your apprenticeship





- An interest in developing technical skills in cutting, colouring, styling and other salon services

- Basic numeracy and literacy skills

- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive hand movements safely

- A commitment to maintaining health, safety and hygiene standards in the workplace
