About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic, reliable and personable Front Bar Staff / Bar Attendants to join our team on a casual basis at The German Arms Hotel in Hahndorf SA 5245.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the bar, pouring a good beer and interacting with customers in a friendly and skilled manner.

You will be responsible for providing great service to our local and visiting customers while helping maintain a welcoming, relaxed and well-run front bar.

What you'll be doing

- Pouring tap beers, bottled beers, wines, spirits and other beverages

- Providing friendly and efficient service to customers at the front bar

- Building rapport with our regular local customers and making guests feel welcome

- Having a friendly chat with patrons while maintaining professional service standards

- Taking drink and food orders accurately

- Processing cash and card payments

- Maintaining good knowledge of our beers, wines, spirits and current promotions

- Keeping the bar area clean, organised and well stocked

- Restocking fridges, glassware and bar supplies as required

- Collecting and washing glasses and maintaining presentation standards

- Supporting other team members during busy periods

- Following responsible service of alcohol requirements at all times

- Maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment for our customers





- Assisting with general bar duties as required

What we're looking for

- Previous bar or hotel experience is preferred

- Confidence pouring tap beer and serving a range of alcoholic beverages

- A friendly and outgoing personality

- Someone who genuinely enjoys talking to customers and getting to know the locals

- Strong communication and customer service skills

- Ability to work efficiently in a busy pub environment

- Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays

- A professional but relaxed approach to customer service

- Good knowledge of responsible alcohol service

- Current RSA or willingness to obtain the required certification before commencing

- A positive attitude and willingness to help wherever required
