The Company

Our client is a nationwide Ground Engineering Contractor with offices throughout Australia and New Zealand, delivering specialist ground engineering and remediation solutions across major infrastructure, civil, government and commercial projects.

They specialise in a range of ground engineering solutions including Jet Grouting, Ground Anchoring (Soil Nailing / Rock Bolting), Slope Stabilisation, Shotcrete, Foundation Piling and Ground Improvement works.

An exciting permanent opportunity is now available for an experienced Project Engineer to join their Brisbane team.

We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer with a background in Ground Engineering, Slope Remediation, Slope Stabilisation and Ground Improvement. However, the company will also consider an experienced Site Engineer who is ready to step up into a Project Engineer position holding this specific experience.

The successful candidate must have local Australian project experience across relevant ground engineering and civil construction scopes.

The Role

Based primarily from the company's Brisbane office, you will work closely with an experienced Ground Engineering Project Manager, supporting the delivery of technically complex ground engineering and slope stabilisation projects.

The role will be approximately:

- 75% Brisbane-based projects
- 25% regional-based projects

When working on regional projects, the company will provide accommodation, travel and a $100 per night Living Away From Home Allowance (LAFHA).

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer looking to build on their existing Ground Engineering experience, or for a strong Site Engineer wanting to take the next step into a Project Engineer role with a highly established specialist contractor.

Key Responsibilities





- Assist the Project Manager with the successful delivery of Ground Engineering and Slope Stabilisation projects.
- Manage project engineering, technical documentation and construction requirements.
- Coordinate engineering, design, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
- Assist with project planning, programming, procurement and construction methodology.
- Review drawings, specifications, designs and engineering documentation.
- Monitor project progress, quality, costs and technical requirements.
- Prepare and manage RFIs, variations, ITPs, inspections and project documentation.
- Assist with subcontractor and supplier management.
- Provide technical support to site teams and resolve engineering issues.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.
- Travel to regional project sites as required.

Ground Engineering Experience

Experience across the following areas will be highly regarded:

- Jet Grouting
- Ground Anchoring (Soil Nailing & Rock Bolting)
- Slope Stabilisation and Slope Remediation
- Ground Improvement
- Shotcrete
- Foundation Piling

What are we looking for?

- Essential experience: Proven Australian experience as a Project Engineer or Site Engineer within Ground Engineering, Slope Stabilisation, Slope Remediation and Ground Improvement works.
- Site Engineers with relevant Australian experience who are ready to step up into a Project Engineer role will also be considered.
- Experience with the following: Jet Grouting, Soil Nailing, Rock Bolting, Ground Anchoring, Slope Stabilisation, Ground Improvement, Shotcrete and Foundation Piling.
- Contractor-side experience only considered.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project engineering and site delivery.
- Practical site-based construction experience.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and project documentation.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work closely with Project Managers, site teams, subcontractors, consultants and clients.
- Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or related Engineering degree preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
- Willingness to travel to regional projects as required.
