About the role
McIlwain is excited to offer an opportunity for a Assistant Accountant to start their professional journey within our Payroll team. Becoming a vital member of the department, the successful candidate will have the chance to gain hands‑on experience and valuable insight into finance, to kick start their career in accounting.
Duties
Assist in managing the weekly pay run review
Conduct audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Provide assistance to the accounting team as required
Escalate issues to Shared Services Manager in a timely manner.
Respond to employee queries
Assist in management of a shared inbox
Skills and experience
Recent Graduate of a Bachelor of Accounting or higher.
3+ years experience in a payroll position or similar
Robust interpersonal skills matched with the ability to build meaningful relationships at all levels of the business.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
