This is a fulltime ongoing position commencing January 2027. The role is part of St Norbert College, a Christian community which lives the Gospel values and offers a nurturing and inclusive school life for young people. You will be a supportive and active contributor towards the realisation of the College's vision, playing an key part in the culture of the College and the future of students.
Key responsibilities
Demonstrate a working knowledge of current curriculum developments in Courses of Study and teaching and learning for Years 7 - 12
Present pedagogical proficiency, motivational and cutting-edge classroom practices
Exhibit an enjoyment from building relationships with adolescents
Display a passion for teaching English
Be inclusive of the diverse needs of learners
Work as part of the English Learning Area team in programming, assessing, providing feedback and reporting
Attend student reviews and parent/student/teacher nights
Set high goals and standards for students and provide interventions for improvement
Use data to measure student achievement and inform teaching practices
Carry out teaching duties as negotiated with the Head of Learning Area
About you
Be supportive of the Catholic and Norbertine ethos of the College
Be willing to contribute and participate in Co-Curricular activities
Hold a current TRBWA registration and Working with Children Clearance
Undertake Mandatory Reporting training (CPPMR) and maintain annually
Abide by the guidelines contained in the St Norbert College Code of Conduct
Skilled standard of dress and personal presentation
Personal commitment to tasks undertaken
Enthusiasm and energy
High standard of organisational and time management skills
Work collaboratively with staff, students and parents
