About the role
This role involves coupling and uncoupling trucks and trailers using a yard tug, operating forklifts, and managing freight movements in a yard and dock environment. You will communicate trailer movements to operations and team members, assist with vehicle loading and unloading, and maintain a secure and organised yard.
This role is based at our Abbe Coolaroo site. The current vacancy is for a Day shift, start time 5:54am.
Key responsibilities
Coupling and uncoupling trucks and trailers using a yard tugger
Constant communication of trailer movements to operations and team members
Operate forklifts and handle freight safely and efficiently
Assist with vehicle loading and unloading
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe yard environment
Safely manoeuvre and position trailers in the yard and dock areas
Conduct pre-start checks and basic vehicle maintenance
Liaise with dispatch and warehouse teams to coordinate trailer movements
Follow all site safety and compliance protocols
About you
Valid LF License (mandatory)
Valid HC - Heavy Combination Licence (mandatory)
Proven experience in yard tug or heavy vehicle driving
Commitment to safety and teamwork
Reliable, punctual, and able to work full time hours with flexibility for overtime
