The founder

Ex Macquarie and Broadridge. Still writes code, still runs sales and still builds the firm's internal tooling himself. He needs someone to run the business alongside him so he can spend more time on clients and product.

What you'll own
How work gets planned, staffed and tracked across client engagements and product
Hiring, onboarding and managing two graduate engineers
Helping proposals, SOWs and contracts get across the line
SOC 2, client security questionnaires and internal policies
Automating the firm's own processes with its workflow platform and AI tools
Everything a 20-person firm needs that nobody owns yet

What matters
You've worked closely with a founder,

MD or CEO and are comfortable taking things off their plate without being asked
You can talk to engineers as a peer. You don't need to code. QA, delivery, product, technical support or engineering backgrounds all work
You've managed or mentored people early in their careers
Direct, practical and happy building the role rather than inheriting one

Nice to have, not required
Financial markets or fintech exposure
SOC 2, ISO 27001 or similar
Hands-on experience with AI tooling

Why this role
You'd be the first non-engineering leader in the business
Small firm, so the work is broad and you'll see the impact of what you build
Real say in how the company grows from 20 to 50

If you tick most of this but not all of it, apply anyway. The role will be shaped around the person.
