About the role
You will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting function, overseeing bookkeeping activities, and ensuring our financial records are accurate and up to date. You will be comfortable working independently, monitoring the work of bookkeepers, and stepping in to complete bookkeeping tasks when required.
Key responsibilities
Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities
Review and monitor bookkeeping work to ensure accuracy and completeness
Perform bookkeeping tasks when required
Assist with month-end reporting and reconciliations
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
Identify discrepancies and follow up on outstanding items
Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger functions
Support the preparation of financial reports and other accounting requirements
Work closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers
Continuously improve accounting and bookkeeping processes
About you
2–3 years of relevant accounting experience
Solid attention to detail and takes pride in accurate work
Confident reviewing and monitoring bookkeeping work
Can confidently perform bookkeeping tasks when required
Organised and able to manage competing priorities
Quick learner with a proactive attitude
Can work independent while also being a team player
Positive communication and problem-solving skills
Experience with accounting software Xero
Experience in the energy or strata industry would be highly regarded
