We are looking for an experienced Plate Sales & Estimator to join our team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong
n knowledge of steel plate, fabrication and plate processing, combined with excellent commercial and customer service skills.

n knowledge of steel plate, fabrication and plate processing, combined with excellent commercial and customer service skills.

About the Role
n
You will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates and quotations, managing customer enquiries and developing sales opportunities from initial enquiry through to order.
n
Key responsibilities
n
n
Prepare accurate and competitive estimates and quotations for plate products
n
Interpret customer drawings, specifications and material requirements.
n
Calculate material quantities, cutting requirements, labour and processing costs.
n
Provide customers with technical and commercial advice on plate products and processing options.
n




Respond promptly to sales enquiries and follow up quotations to secure orders.
n
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
n
Identify new sales opportunities and contribute to business growth.
n
Liaise with production, purchasing and operations teams to ensure quoted work can be delivered efficiently.
n
Maintain accurate pricing, customer and quotation information.
n
Assist with negotiating pricing, lead times and delivery requirements.
n
Ensure estimates are commercially sound and aligned with company margins.

About you
n
You will ideally have:
n
n
Previous experience insteel plate sales, estimating or fabrication.
n
Robust understanding of steel plate grades, thicknesses, sizes and applications.
n
Experience estimating cutting, profiling, drilling, bending or other plate-processing requirements.
n
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
n
Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
n
Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
n
A commercial mindset and confidence discussing pricing with customers.
n
The ability to manage multiple quotes and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
