Emerald Carrying Company (ECC), a leading name in the transport and logistics industry, is seeking a qualified and motivated Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our Mackay workshop team.

You will be responsible for maintaining our fleet of heavy vehicles, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability for transport operations.
n
This hands‐on role is critical to keeping our fleet on the road and running safely, efficiently, and on schedule. You will be part of a growing company with a reputation for reliability in the transport and logistics sector.

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this role will include (but not limited to) the following duties;

Conduct regular scheduled servicing of our Kenworth Fleet.
n
Carry out inspections, oil changes, filter replacements, and brake servicing.
n
Identify and report wear and tear issues before they lead to breakdowns.
n
Perform minor mechanical repairs and assist with more complex repairs as required.
n
Ensure service checklists and maintenance records are accurately completed.
n
Keep the workshop clean, organised, and compliant with safety regulations.

Monday to Friday Roster
n
6.00 am to 4.30 pm daily
n
On-Call rostered responsibilities as per operational requirements - on-call allowance applies

Skills and Experience
n
n
Trade qualifications in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology or Automotive Mechanical Technology (Heavy Road Transport), supported by relevant industry experience
n
Previous experience in the maintenance of fuel trucks and trailers, particularly Kenworth vehicles, will be highly regarded
n
Confidence working independently while maintaining a safe, organised work environment
n
A robust commitment to safety, including hazard identification and risk assessment
n
A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues
n
