Diesel Fitter / Mechanic (HR Licence Required)

City Generators is a growing provider of generator hire, sales, and service solutions across Queensland. Due to continued growth in our fleet, hire assets, and delivery requirements, we are seeking an experienced Diesel Fitter / Mechanic with an HR Truck Licence to join our team in a full-time capacity.
About the Role
This is a diverse, hands-on position based primarily in our Nambour and Maroochydore workshops, with occasional field work. As our fleet and delivery operations continue to expand, this role has been created to ensure our equipment, vehicles, and logistics operations are maintained to the highest standard.
You will play a key role in maintaining our fleet of diesel generators and hire equipment, while also operating and maintaining our trucks and field service vehicles.
This role will also involve occasional travel throughout QLD and into NSW, delivering generators to customers and project sites, as well as supporting field teams on larger jobs when required.
Key responsibilities
Servicing, maintenance, and repairs of diesel generators and hire sets
Servicing and maintaining company vehicles, trucks, and mobile plant
Workshop-based fleet maintenance with occasional on-site field support
Assisting other tradesmen in the field on larger installation and service projects
Operating a
tilt tray and crane truck
(10 meter-tonne license is ideal but not mandatory) to deliver generators across QLD and NSW
Conducting routine truck upkeep including washing, weekly checks, and general maintenance
Maintaining company assets including trucks, forklifts,



and hire equipment
Supporting internal fleet readiness and reliability (general maintenance, oil changes and rust repair/touch up)
Reporting Structure
You will report directly to the
Operations Manager and Managing Director
, playing an important role in managing internal fleet maintenance and ensuring all company assets operate safely and efficiently.
About You
Trade qualification as a
Diesel Fitter / Mechanic
(or equivalent)
HR Truck Licence (essential)
Experience with diesel engines, generators, or similar equipment
Ability to operate or willingness to learn crane truck operations. Crane truck (vehicle loading crane) over 10 metre-tonnes ticket preferred but not mandatory (training/ticket can/will be provided)
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance skills
A reliable, self-motivated attitude with the ability to work independently
Willingness to travel for deliveries and field support when required
Experience maintaining heavy vehicles and workshop equipment (desirable)
