Job Description
The Role:
n
We are seeking an experienced and practical WHS Officer to support our operations by implementing, auditing and continuously improving our Work Health and Safety systems across multiple sites.
n
Reporting to the HR Manager, this role provides hands‐on support to site managers and operational teams whilst leading WHS audits, inspections, investigations, corrective action management, and compliance reviews.
n
This is a highly visible role that requires regular travel, with approximately 50% of working time spent across operational sites supporting safety performance and system compliance.
n
Your key responsibilities will include:
n

Implement and maintain WHS policies, procedures and protected systems of work.
n
Conduct internal audits, inspections, workplace assessments and management system reviews.
n
Coordinate corrective actions arising from hazards, incidents, near misses, investigations and audit findings.
n
Review incident investigations and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
n
Monitor WHS KPIs, trends and compliance performance.
n
Prepare monthly WHS reports and support management reviews.
n
Deliver toolbox talks, training and safety awareness initiatives.
n




Provide practical WHS advice and support to managers and employees across all sites.
n
Support continuous improvement of Mulgowie's Integrated Management System.
n

To be successful in the position you will have:
n
n
Formal WHS/OH&S; qualifications
n
Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
n
Thorough working knowledge of WHS legislative requirements
n
Experience in delivering pragmatic WHS systems-based improvement in the FMCG sector (ideally Fresh Produce or similar)
n
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in WHS within the FMCG or Fresh Produce sector
n
Experience working across multiple sites and dispersed operating teams
n
Strong verbal and written communication skills
n
Demonstrated ability to be influential and display leadership behaviours
n
A life‐long learning approach, and be keen to develop new skills and tackle new experiences
n
An enjoyment of on‐the‐spot problem solving,
n
An interest in and enjoyment of developing capability in others to enhance WHS understanding and compliance
n
Valid Australian work rights or visa eligibility
