We are seeking an experienced and commercially drivenGeneral Managerto lead and grow our bulk haulage operations.

This is a senior leadership role for an accomplished transport professional who understands the demands ofbulk haulage, knows how to run a safe and efficient fleet, and can lead people while delivering strong operational and financial results.

You will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the business, working closely with the leadership team, customers and drivers to ensure we deliver a safe, reliable and commercially successful operation.

As General Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the bulk haulage business, working closely with the leadership team, customers and drivers to ensure a safe, reliable and commercially successful operation.

Key responsibilities
n

Providing strategic and operational leadership across the bulk haulage business
n
Managing and optimising fleet utilisation, productivity and operating costs
n
Leading and developing a team of managers, supervisors, drivers and support staff
n
Maintaining strong relationships with key customers and identifying recent business opportunities
n
Ensuring compliance with Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management, safety and transport legislation
n
Driving a strong safety culture across the organisation
n




Managing budgets, P&L; performance, margins and commercial outcomes
n
Improving systems, processes and operational efficiency
n
Overseeing fleet maintenance, availability and replacement planningManaging workforce planning, recruitment, performance and employee engagement
n

About you
n
n
Significant senior management experience within bulk haulage, transport or logistics
n
Strong knowledge of bulk transport operations and fleet management
n
Demonstrated experience managing drivers and operational teams
n
Strong commercial and financial acumen, including P&L; responsibility
n
A proven ability to improve productivity, utilisation and profitability
n
Excellent knowledge of Australian heavy vehicle compliance and Chain of Responsibility requirements
n
Strong customer relationship and negotiation skills
n
Exceptional leadership and communication abilities
n
