Accounts Assistant – Hector's Deli

Office-based, South Melbourne (moving to St Kilda Road, November/December ****) | Casual | Around ***** hours per week | $*****–$*****/hr + super, depending on experience

Hector's Deli is a hospitality group with eight sites and dedicated production teams, and we're growing. We're looking for an Accounts Assistant to help keep our back office accurate, on time and under control.
n
The role is casual. You'll report to our Finance Supervisor and work closely with our Head of Finance.
n
What you'll do
n
n
Manage the accounts inbox and respond to supplier queries
n
Code and process supplier invoices in Xero across multiple sites
n
Reconcile supplier statements and chase missing credits
n
Reconcile bank and credit card statements in Xero
n
Prepare supplier payment runs for approval
n
Raise customer invoices and follow up overdue accounts

Support month-end close
n
Help with other finance and admin tasks as needed
n

This role is mainly accounts payable. You'll handle a high volume of invoices from a wide range of suppliers across our sites. It suits someone who takes pride in accuracy and likes seeing a process run smoothly and on time.

What you'll bring
n




n
At least 1–2 years' experience in accounts payable and/or receivable
n
Xero experience, or experience with a similar cloud system and the ability to pick Xero up quickly
n
Accuracy at volume: you notice when an invoice doesn't match the order
n
Good organisation and follow-through without needing reminders
n
Confidence dealing with suppliers and site managers
n
Hospitality and multi-site experience (highly regarded)
n
Full working rights in Australia

Hours and location
n
This is an office-based role. You'll start at our South Melbourne office, which moves to St Kilda Road in November/December ****.

Hours are around ***** a week and vary with the workload. Expect more hours around month-end and busy periods, and fewer when things are quieter.
