The recognition is nice, but what we're most proud of is the team behind it.
The awards don't happen because of one person.
They happen because a group of smart, hardworking people genuinely care about the work they do and the people they work with.
So, what does a Broker Associate actually do?
You work alongside a broker and learn how lending really works.
You'll review client information, analyse documents, package applications, order valuations, work with lenders, follow up outstanding items and help keep deals moving from enquiry through to approval.
You're not a broker yet, but you're also not stuck doing mindless admin.
You'll learn why deals get approved, why they don't, how lenders assess risk, how clients make decisions and how to spot problems before they become expensive ones.
The real value in this role is the exposure you'll get.
You'll work on sophisticated lending structures, investor portfolios and complex scenarios while learning how credit, risk and lending strategy work in the real world.
But can't AI do half this job?
Honestly?
Some of it, yes.
We're big believers in AI, automation and technology.
If something can be done faster and better by a machine, we'll use it.
We're not interested in protecting manual tasks just because 'that's how broking has always worked.

But we're still investing heavily in Broker Associates because we have a structured career pathway and a dedicated Training Academy designed to develop people properly.
Technology can improve efficiency.
What it can't replace is judgement, communication, problem-solving and understanding people.
If you want to become exceptional in this industry, you need to understand how lending works,



how clients think, where risk sits and how to solve problems when the obvious answer doesn't work.
Technology should make you better.
Not do the thinking for you.

What's harder to teach is ownership, curiosity, resilience and genuine care for the outcome.
You'll probably thrive here if you're ambitious, accountable, coachable, resilient and capable of having a laugh at yourself.

You still need to be organised, proactive, ethical and good with people.
But the people who do best here are hungry to learn and willing to back themselves.
What's the team actually like?
Busy, supportive, high-performing and just the right amount of chaotic.
On any given day someone will be asking a lending question across the office, someone else will be talking complete rubbish and somebody will be eating something questionable before 10am.
Despite that, a ridiculous amount of work gets done.
People teach, share knowledge, jump into files and help each other when things get tough.
Nobody gets left drowning because 'that's not my job'.
We work hard, enjoy winning together and genuinely like being around each other.
Your backgroundYou might already come from mortgage broking, banking, lending, settlements, credit, customer service, finance administration or another high-volume role with lots of moving parts.
Or you might not.
No lending experience is required if you're sharp, driven, curious and willing to learn.

Broker Associate can lead into Senior Broker Associate, Strategist, Broker and other roles across the business.
