Registered Nurse - Emergency Department | Cairns & Far North Queensland Region (Multiple Sites)

We are seeking experienced Emergency Registered Nurses to join busy and supportive rural and regional EDs across Far North Queensland.

Tully Hospital
n
A small but vital rural ED supporting remote communities south of Cairns.
n
n
4-bed ED within a 20-bed facility
n
Diverse presentations including trauma, medical, paediatrics & aged care
n
Close-knit team with strong autonomy required
n
Lifestyle: Rainforests, waterfalls, Mission Beach, hiking, swimming holes and tropical escapes
n
n
Mossman Hospital
n
A busy rural ED with strong flow and 24/7 medical cover.
n
n
10-bed ED (approx. 50 presentations/day) + acute ward
n
Fast-paced environment requiring strong ED capability
n
Lifestyle: Mossman Gorge, Daintree Rainforest, Cape Tribulation, Port Douglas, reef access and river fishing
n

Atherton Hospital
n

n
24/7 ED within a 56-bed facility
n
Broad mix of trauma, medical, paediatrics & mental health
n

n
A fast-paced rural ED with strong team support and varied presentations.

6 treatment spaces incl. resus bays
n
Focus on community health and culturally responsive care

Small rural ED with high autonomy and varied emergency presentations.
n

In-charge capability required
n
Strong focus on assessment, triage & resus care
n

A regional ED supporting a diverse coastal community.
n
n
24-hour ED with broad acute presentations
n
Strong focus on assessment, coordination & emergency response

Skills & Experience Required
n
n
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
n
Strong Emergency Department experience (rural/regional highly regarded)
n
Mandatory: ALS, triage competency, iEMR QLD training, FirstNet training
n
Confident in resuscitation, acute assessment & deteriorating patient management
n
Ability to work autonomously in rural and remote settings
n
Excellent communication and teamwork in fast-paced environments
n
