Join a values-led team focused on child wellbeing and family resilience Use your family services expertise to support vulnerable children Max term part time until 10 August **** based in Cranbourne Your new role As a Lead Practitioner Family Services, you'll work alongside families experiencing complex challenges to strengthen parenting capacity, improve family functioning and support positive outcomes for children and young people.
You'll build trusted relationships and deliver evidence-informed interventions that promote safety, stability and wellbeing.
Based on High Street Cranbourne, this is a part-time fixed-term role working 3 days per week, with Friday being a preferred working day.
A key focus of this role is ensuring the child's voice remains central to all assessment, planning and intervention activities while supporting families to create sustainable change.
You will work independently, manage a diverse caseload and respond effectively to changing family needs.
Your impact will include: • Delivering intensive family case management and outreach support.
• Capturing and amplifying the child's voice in planning and decision-making.
• Promoting child safety, stability and positive developmental outcomes.
• Supporting families impacted by trauma, family violence, mental health and other complex challenges.
• Working collaboratively with Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH), Child Protection and community partners.
About the Program The Strengthening Families program provides early intervention and preventative support to families experiencing vulnerability or escalating challenges that impact parenting, family functioning and child wellbeing.
Working from a strengths-based, trauma-informed and culturally responsive framework, the program empowers families to identify goals, build resilience and access the supports they need to thrive.




Through timely support and practical assistance, the program helps children remain safe, supported and connected to their families and communities while reducing the likelihood of future statutory intervention.

Your skills and experience You're an experienced family services practitioner who can build strong relationships with families, work independently and deliver child-focused interventions that promote safety and stability.
You will bring: Experience working within Family Services supporting vulnerable children and families.
Demonstrated ability to capture and advocate for the child's voice in practice.
Strong understanding of child development, trauma, attachment and family-centred practice.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Welfare or a related discipline.
Current Victorian Driver License and ability to work autonomously in the community.
