Assist coordination and delivery of field programs that support species recovery, reintroductions and population monitoring.

As the Fighting Extinction Field Biologist (Herpetofauna), you will play a key role in recovering Victoria's threatened reptiles and amphibians.
Working across priority species programs, you will assist with planning and deliver of field activities including surveys, population monitoring, translocations, habitat management and threat mitigation.
Collaborating with conservation scientists, recovery teams, Traditional Owners, land managers and research partners, you will help deliver evidence-based conservation actions that improve outcomes for some of Victoria's most imperilled species.
Through this work, you will help connect field conservation,



research and zoo-based programs to achieve lasting recovery outcomes and advance Zoos Victoria's Fighting Extinction mission.
The key skills and knowledge required for this role will include: Knowledge of field ecology and threatened species recovery, with specialisation in herpetofauna conservation.
Skills in practical field operations, including planning field activities, coordinating logistics and working in remote environments.
Understanding of conservation program delivery, including the role of zoos in supporting field recovery, reintroductions and applied research.
