Our Youth Services team supports young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness through crisis accommodation, case management and therapeutic support.
We work from a trauma-informed and Psychologically Informed Workplace (PIE) framework, helping young people develop the confidence and life skills needed to live independently and achieve their goals.

About the role As an After-Hours Youth Support Worker , you'll play a vital role in creating a safe and nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
You'll become a trusted and consistent presence during after-hours periods, supporting young people through challenges, celebrating their achievements, and empowering them towards independence.
Reporting to the Client Services Coordinator , this is a permanent part-time opportunity , 27.5 hours per week, based on-site in Shepparton, VIC Conditions Compensation is in accordance with SCHADS Award Level 3.




How you'll make an impact Create a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for young people in crisis accommodation Build positive relationships based on respect, trust and professional boundaries Support young people to develop everyday independent living skills, including cooking, hygiene, budgeting and caring for shared spaces Assist residents to engage with education, employment, housing, health and community services Work within the Journey to Independence Model and trauma-informed practice frameworks Identify risks, respond to incidents and contribute to a safe service environment Participate in handovers and collaborate closely with the broader support team Provide outreach support to young people accessing the service What you'll bring We're looking for someone who is compassionate, resilient and committed to helping young people overcome challenges and reach their potential: A minimum Diploma qualification in Community Services, Youth Work, Social Services or a related field Experience working within community services, youth services, homelessness, residential care or a similar support environment An understanding of trauma-informed practice and Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE) Strong communication and relationship-building skills The ability to remain calm, professional and solution-focused in challenging situations A current Victorian Employee Working With Children Check A current Victorian Driver's Licence What we offer Eligible employees can access a meaningful and supportive employment experience, including: Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free + $2,650 meal entertainment benefit Access to EAP and wellbeing initiatives Generous Paid Parental leave for primary (12 weeks)
