The AEC Administration Officer provides administrative and coordination support to Zoos Victoria's Conservation and Science function, with primary responsibility for the effective operation of the Animal Ethics Committee (AEC) and Science Advisory Committee (SAC).
The role coordinates meetings, manages documentation and submissions, maintains accurate records and supports follow-up actions to ensure timely, well-governed and compliant decision-making across the organisation's research activities.
Key accountabilities of the role: Coordinate the Animal Ethics Committee (AEC), including the timely and effective coordination of meetings, documentation and record-keeping.
Coordinate the Science Advisory Committee (SAC), including the timely and effective coordination of meetings, documentation and record-keeping.
Support the design and implementation of relevant improvement recommendations according to AEC audit processes.
Coordinate and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders through the administration and operation of the AEC and SAC, ensuring timely engagement,



high-quality documentation and robust governance processes.
Prepare and disseminate relevant communications, reports and publications internally and externally on behalf of the Conservation and Science Function.
Assist with ordering and purchasing, including technical equipment, travel and stationery.
The ideal candidate will have: Experience in administrative support and/or office management in a technical/scientific environment.
Experience in supporting AEC processes.
Experience in communicating science in an engaging and effective manner.
Understanding of and a commitment to conservation and the environment.
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team and meet deadlines within given timelines.
