Entity: Datacom Systems AU Pty Ltd About the Role As a Senior Consultant, you will lead the technical delivery of large-scale data platform and BI solutions.
You will be asked to design, implement and own the delivery of robust Data Platform and Insight solutions.
Our Senior Consultants work closely with our client stakeholders/teams and our internal Principal Consultants, Practice Leads, and Project Managers.
This is a client facing role, so you'll need to be an excellent communicator with great engagement and presentation skills across a range of stakeholder levels.
What You'll Do Working with clients (businesses users) to identify consulting opportunities, and eliciting stakeholders requirements through workshops facilitation.
Contribute to the technical architecture, design and delivery for new modern data and insight platforms using innovative ideas and your proven experience in the latest trends for data-powered decision enablement.
Provide thought leadership to our clients regarding data management and integration recommendations.
Design data models (relational and dimensional modelling) across different data domains and industries.
Design and deployment AI solutions for data migration, data modelling, application modernization and data warehouse migrations to name but a few.
Ability to perform performance tuning and optimisation on new or existing data platforms and insight solutions.




Manage development life cycles using various source code management tools including our AI modernisation techniques and products.
Ability to design and develop customised self-service solutions using Power BI, with an in-depth knowledge of the different deployment options.
Provide detailed technical documentation, end user training and knowledge-transfer services to customers, and internal teams.
Essential Skillset Experience Proven experience designing, building and modernising Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and analytics platforms.
Strong knowledge of data modelling and data warehousing principles, including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema design.
Extensive experience with modern cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Platform, or Databricks.
Hands-on expertise developing and maintaining data pipelines, dataflows and ETL/ELT frameworks.
Advanced SQL and Python development skills for data engineering and analytics solutions.
Strong experience with Power BI, including semantic modelling, Power Query, DAX and dashboard development.
Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, Git-based source control and deployment automation within data platforms.
Strong understanding of data platform performance optimisation, governance, scalability and cost management.
Experience working with cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
Proven ability to engage, consult and influence stakeholders at all levels, translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong consulting and stakeholder management capabilities.
Minimum 7+ years' experience delivering data warehousing, data platform or business intelligence solutions.
Minimum 5+ years' experience developing semantic data models and reporting solutions.
Bachelor's and Master's degree in computer science, Business,



or a related discipline.
Desirable Skills Experience Experience leading large-scale Enterprise Data Warehouse migration programmes.
Hands-on expertise with Snowflake technologies, including Cortex, Coalesce, Snowflake Data Pipelines and Data Sharing capabilities.
Hands-on expertise with Databricks, including Lakehouse architecture, Autoloader, Delta Live Tables and Workflows.
Experience using contemporary data integration and automation tools such as dbt, Fivetran, Matillion, Coalesce or Azure/Fabric Data Factory.
Experience with legacy and traditional data warehousing technologies including Oracle, PL/SQL, Unix Scripting, EssBase and Business Objects.
SnowPro certification.
Microsoft Azure Data Engineer, Fabric Analytics Engineer, or equivalent cloud data certification.
Experience delivering solutions within consulting, managed services or Tier 1/Tier 2 service provider environments.
Experience with data governance, master data management and modern data architecture frameworks.
Experience mentoring technical teams and providing architectural leadership across data and analytics engagements.
