The Opportunity An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join our growing team.
This role is critical in supporting Hall's strategic objectives by identifying, developing, and securing dredging and marine construction opportunities throughout Australia and the Pacific region.
The Role Reporting to the General Manager (Dredging) and working closely with senior leadership, you will play a key role in increasing Hall's market presence, strengthening industry relationships, and positioning the business early for upcoming works.
Key Responsibilities Identify, assess, and develop new business opportunities across the dredging, marine construction, ports, defence, and infrastructure sectors.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders including Port Authorities, Rio Tinto, BHP, Viva Energy, South32, Defence, and Government agencies.
Maintain a continuously updated pipeline of opportunities and provide market intelligence to support strategic business planning.
Position Hall Contracting early for upcoming projects through proactive market engagement and relationship management.
Support tender strategies, proposal development, and bid preparation activities.
Represent Hall Contracting at industry conferences, trade shows, bilateral business forums, and trade missions.




Collaborate closely with internal operational and leadership teams to align business development activities with broader company objectives.
Contribute to achieving business development KPIs and long-term growth targets.
About You You are a highly motivated and relationship-focused business development professional with strong commercial acumen and an established network across the marine, dredging, ports, or infrastructure sectors.
You will ideally bring: Proven experience in business development, strategic relationship management, and opportunity generation.
Existing industry relationships across ports, marine infrastructure, dredging, defence, mining, or government sectors.
Strong understanding of procurement pathways and project development processes.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
The ability to operate autonomously while contributing to broader strategic business objectives.
A proactive, outgoing, and professional approach with high levels of integrity and accountability.
A background in engineering consulting or related disciplines such as marine, civil, or dredging (desirable).
Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally where required.
