About the Position The Early Childhood Teacher is the centre's qualified teaching lead.
The role designs and delivers the educational program that shapes each child's early learning at Rise Shine Menai.
It sets the standard of pedagogy in the rooms, ensures the program meets the National Quality Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework, and leads and mentors the educators who deliver care each day.
It is also a key point of contact for families, building the trusted partnerships that underpin children's progress and the centre's reputation in the Menai community.
Key Responsibilities Design and implement inclusive, play-based learning programs that foster children's physical, social, emotional, cognitive and language development.
Create and maintain a protected, nurturing and stimulating learning environment that supports each child's wellbeing, sense of belonging and growth.
Observe, assess and document children's learning and development, and use that evidence to inform curriculum planning and individual learning goals.




Promote language and literacy development through storytelling, role play, songs and interactive learning experiences.
Ensure the educational program and daily practice comply with the National Quality Framework, the National Quality Standard and the Early Years Learning Framework.
Lead, guide and mentor educators to maintain high-quality early childhood education and care, modelling best practice in teaching and interactions with children.
Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues to improve learning outcomes.
Communicate regularly with families about children's progress, needs and developmental milestones, and work with them on strategies that support each child's learning at the centre and at home.
Requirements Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
Minimum one year of experience as an Early Childhood Teacher.
Sound working knowledge of the National Quality Framework, the National Quality Standard, the Early Years Learning Framework and the Education and Care Services National Regulations.
Ability to plan, document and evaluate learning programs, including observations, learning stories and assessment of developmental milestones.
Current NSW Working with Children Check, or eligibility to obtain one.
Current first aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma management training, or willingness to complete it.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues.
Leadership and mentoring ability to guide and support educators.
A warm, patient and inclusive approach to children from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs.
Good organisational and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well within a team.
