Reporting to the Director of HSW, the Health, Safety Wellbeing (HSW) Technical Manager – Corporate VIC Metro is a key leadership role responsible for providing expert technical direction across health, safety and wellbeing systems, programs and standards.
Partnering closely with operational leaders and site-based HS E Managers, the role drives the effective management of risk, strengthens safety capability and culture, ensures legislative compliance, and supports the delivery of sustainable HSW outcomes across Victorian Metro operations while contributing to the broader national HSW strategy.
Key responsibilities include: Providing expert HSW advice and technical guidance to operational and functional leaders.
Driving implementation and continuous improvement of HSW management systems and standards.
Leading critical risk management and assurance activities across Victorian Metro operations.
Monitoring legislative and regulatory compliance requirements and ensuring organisational alignment.
Supporting incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action management.
Analysing HSW performance data, trends and insights to inform decision making.
Partnering with leaders to strengthen safety capability, accountability and culture.
Supporting internal and external audits, regulatory interactions and corporate reporting requirements.
About You You are a proactive and credible HSW professional with strong technical expertise and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.




You are comfortable balancing strategic priorities with operational realities and have a passion for driving continuous improvement and positive safety outcomes .
Significant experience in Health, Safety and Wellbeing within manufacturing, food production, logistics or a similar operational environment.
Strong knowledge of Australian HSW legislation, compliance and risk management frameworks.
Experience implementing and improving HSW management systems and assurance processes.
Demonstrated capability leading incident investigations and critical risk management programs.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, coaching and influencing skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability.
