Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic & Apprentice

Position: Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Apprentice Key Responsibilities Diagnose faults in engines and mechanical systems

Repair and maintain heavy vehicles and mechanical components

Remove and dismantle engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components

Inspect components to identify faults, damage and wear

Repair or replace faulty and worn parts

Reassemble mechanical components and systems

Test and adjust mechanical parts after repairs or replacement

Use computerised diagnostic equipment to diagnose and test vehicle systems

Inspect vehicles and complete repairs required to achieve roadworthiness

Repair and maintain vehicle suspension and chassis systems

Carry out general servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs

Follow workplace health and safety procedures

Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment

Complete all mechanical work to a high professional standard

Apprentice Requirements No previous experience required

Genuine interest in heavy vehicles and mechanical work

Willingness to learn and develop new skills

Reliable and punctual

Good work ethic and positive attitude

Ability to work as part of a team





Commitment to completing a 4-year apprenticeship

Training:

Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology Qualified Mechanic Requirements Completed a 4-year apprenticeship

Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology

Experience working on heavy commercial vehicles

Robust mechanical diagnostic and repair skills

Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical faults

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Reliable, professional and safety-conscious approach
