Georges River Council is seeking a dedicated Bushcare Officer to join our City Technical Services team in Mortdale, where you'll work within our bush regeneration crew to restore, protect and enhance local natural areas.
In this highly hands-on role, you'll spend the majority of your time working in the field as part of a small, dynamic team responsible for the care and management of Council's bushland reserves.
From weed control and assisted regeneration to revegetation and habitat restoration, you'll be actively involved in delivering on-ground conservation outcomes that improve the health and resilience of our natural setting.
We're looking for someone with a relevant qualification and demonstrated experience in ecological restoration, including assisted regeneration, revegetation and large-scale weed management.
You will bring a practical, solutions-focused approach and enjoy working outdoors in varying environments.
Along with your technical knowledge of bush regeneration, conservation and land management, you'll have strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively assisting our Bushcare Officer - Volunteers with site preparation for community activities and events.

Full-Time - 76 hours per fortnight Salary from $72,****** - $84,****** per annum plus 12% superannuation Enjoy a 9-day fortnight Fitness Passport Program offering discounted membership for you and your family to selected facilities Employee Rewards Program Ongoing education and resources The successful candidate will have Certificate III Conservation and Land Management (Natural Area Restoration) or equivalent experience ACDC Spray licence or Chemcert Strong plant identification skills – native and exotic across a range of ecosystem types Class C Drivers Licence Construction Induction Card (White Card) First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain Demonstrated experience and knowledge of ecological restoration including assisted regeneration, revegetation and large scale weed control Experience in bush regeneration, conservation and land management Willingness and ability to work in various locations throughout LGA to complete bush regeneration and weed management activities Demonstrated physical fitness/capacity to perform repetitive bush regeneration, maintenance and revegetation tasks Ability to work without supervision and as part of a team Well-developed written and verbal communication skills Understanding of and commitment to WHS practices Demonstrated commitment to customer service Desirable Chainsaw Operations Level 2 or 3 accreditation If you have made a positive commitment to further your career and you possess the attributes located in the Position Description essential criteria,
