We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transport Compliance Officer to join our team and play a critical role in maintaining our commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

About the Role Reporting to the relevant operational leadership team,



the Transport Compliance Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective transport safety and compliance systems across the business.
The successful candidate will ensure all transport operations comply with legislative, accreditation, and organisational requirements while fostering a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Key areas of focus include: Main Roads WA Heavy Vehicle Accreditation (HVA) Fatigue Management compliance Driver and vehicle compliance across metropolitan and regional operations Training, competency management, and compliance awareness Continuous improvement of transport safety systems and procedures You will work closely with operational managers, supervisors, drivers, and regulatory authorities to identify risks, address non-compliance, and implement corrective actions that support a safe and compliant transport network.
Key Responsibilities Maintain, manage, and continuously improve transport compliance systems and records.
Monitor compliance with Main Roads WA Heavy Vehicle Accreditation (HVA) requirements.
Conduct transport, driver, and operational compliance audits.
Review and update driver manuals, policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Monitor fatigue management compliance and driver documentation.
Investigate incidents, near misses,



and compliance breaches, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
Liaise with regulators, industry bodies, and key stakeholders regarding compliance matters.
Assist with driver inductions, training programs, and competency assessments.
Support regional depots to ensure consistent compliance standards across the business.
Prepare reports, compliance metrics, and recommendations for management.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, efficiency, and operational performance.
About You To be successful in this role, you will possess: Qualifications in Quality Management, Workplace Health Safety, Compliance, Transport Operations, or equivalent industry experience.
Demonstrated experience working within heavy vehicle transport compliance and accreditation frameworks.
Strong understanding of Main Roads WA Heavy Vehicle Accreditation (HVA), fatigue management requirements, and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) principles.
Experience implementing, maintaining, and auditing Quality Management Systems.
Proven ability to conduct investigations, audits, and corrective action processes.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to build effective relationships with drivers, operational teams, managers, and external stakeholders.
Previous experience within the transport, logistics, or distribution industry is essential.
A proactive approach with a strong commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
