About the Role We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cook to join our kitchen team.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals in accordance with our menu specifications and established quality standards.
You will assist with daily food preparation, kitchen operations, stock management and food safety while helping ensure smooth and effective service.
Working closely with the Head Chef/Kitchen Manager and other members of the kitchen and front-of-house teams, you will play an important role in maintaining the quality, consistency and presentation our customers expect.
Key Responsibilities Prepare, cook and present dishes in accordance with menu specifications and established quality standards Ensure consistency in food quality, flavour, portioning and presentation Undertake daily mise en place, including preparation, chopping, portioning, marinating and organising ingredients Prepare ingredients and food items for service in accordance with established recipes and procedures Assist with seasonal dishes, specials and catering requirements as required Monitor food and ingredient stock levels and advise senior kitchen staff when supplies require replenishment Follow appropriate stock rotation, storage and labelling procedures while assisting to minimise food waste Check the quality and freshness of ingredients prior to preparation and cooking Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation throughout kitchen and food storage areas Follow food safety requirements,



HACCP procedures and relevant Australian food standards Assist with kitchen operations during busy service periods to ensure meals are prepared accurately and efficiently Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to support efficient and timely service Assist with the preparation and cooking of food for functions, events and other catering requirements where required Maintain kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas in a clean, safe and operational condition Follow workplace health and safety requirements, safe work procedures and company policies About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally have: Certificate III plus on the job training or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent relevant qualification Previous 1 year of experience working as a Cook in a café, restaurant or similar hospitality environment Sound knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques A good understanding of safe food handling practices, hygiene requirements and Australian food safety standards The ability to follow recipes, menu specifications and established kitchen procedures The ability to maintain quality and consistency during busy service periods Robust organisational and time-management skills Excellent attention to detail and pride in food presentation Good communication and teamwork skills The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment A reliable, positive and professional approach to work Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including early mornings, weekends and public holidays as required Join Our Team This is an excellent opportunity to bring your cooking skills to a welcoming, community-focused café while becoming part of a supportive and growing hospitality business.
