Job Description
Byron District Hospital is seeking Registered Nurses to join its Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) team on a 14-week contract basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a specialised mental health setting in Byron, NSW, starting 26 October **** through 31 January ****.
Two positions are available, offering the chance to deliver care in a dynamic, supportive environment focused on both mental health and substance use support.
Specialised mental health and AOD nursing in a dedicated inpatient setting
14-week contract role with clear start and end dates, ideal for experienced nurses seeking focused engagement
Based in Byron Bay, combining skilled challenge with access to a relaxed coastal community
Preferred Requirements




Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
Demonstrated experience in mental health nursing practice
Demonstrated experience in alcohol and other drugs (AOD) nursing
Current Violence Prevention and Management (VPM) competency or willingness to obtain it
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast‐paced clinical environment
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification with current AHPRA registration
Post-graduate qualification or formal training in mental health nursing
Formal training or certification in AOD nursing practice
