West Crane Services (WCS) is a 100% Australian-owned, family business and Victoria's largest crane service and installation company. Established in 2002, we design, manufacture, install, and service overhead cranes and lifting equipment for industrial and commercial clients across Australia. With branches in Truganina and Dandenong and a team of 35+, we take pride in the quality and reliability of our work — and in looking after our people.

The Role We're looking for an experienced Senior Crane Technician to join our Truganina team. You'll carry out servicing, inspections, and breakdown repairs on overhead cranes and lifting equipment, working autonomously on complex jobs and providing hands‑on technical guidance to less experienced technicians and apprentices. This is a great prospect for a technician who knows their trade inside and out and is ready to take on a senior, mentoring role within a close‑knit, well‑established team.

What you'll be doing

Carrying out routine servicing, inspections, and breakdown repairs on overhead cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment

Diagnosing and resolving complex electrical and mechanical faults

Working autonomously on more complex jobs with minimal supervision

Mentoring and supporting junior technicians and apprentices on the job

Completing job cards and service reports accurately and on time

Providing technical input to your Supervisor on Repair After Service (RAS) quotes

Ensuring all work is completed to WCS's safety and quality standards

Participating in toolbox talks and safety initiatives

What we're looking for

Extensive experience servicing cranes, hoists, or industrial lifting equipment

Solid fault-finding and diagnostic skills

High Risk Work Licence(s) relevant to crane/lifting equipment (advantageous)

Ability to mentor and support less experienced technicians

Solid communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach

Current driver's licence

Join a well-established, growing, family-owned Victorian business

Be part of a close-knit, experienced service team based at our Truganina branch

Take on a senior, respected role with real mentoring responsibility

Stable, ongoing work with a reputable industry leader
