We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Cost Advisor to join an EPCM working on an oil & gas construction project in the Surat Basin, Queensland. This position will start on a 12 month contract, paid on an hourly rate.

This is a site-based position supporting the construction and commercial teams across gas and water gathering pipeline infrastructure. You will be responsible for field-based quantity verification, productivity assessment, cost control and contractor commercial assurance.

The tasks you'll perform
n
n
Verify contractor progress, quantities, timesheets and reports against actual site activity.
n
Monitor construction productivity, labour and equipment utilisation.
n
Identify delays, productivity issues and opportunities for improvement.
n
Support the review of contractor claims, variations and commercial impacts.
n
Track progress against schedules and provide commercial reporting to project leadership.
n
Work closely with construction, engineering, project controls and contractor teams.
n

The expertise you'll bring
n
n
5–10 years' experience in Quantity Surveying, Cost Control or Project Controls.
n
Experience within oil & gas, pipelines, civil construction or heavy infrastructure.
n
Exposure to HDPE gas/water pipelines or similar linear infrastructure.
n
Strong understanding of contractor claims, variations and contract management.
n
Solid Excel and quantity measurement skills.
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
Comfortable working in a site-based construction environment.
n
